D.C. Filter Choke - 156C

Purchased to use as a plate load choke for the 1st section of a 13DE7 (roughly a 6cg7 and a 45 in a single bottle)
Works great. Highly recommend for this use with 12AU7, 6JD7, 6SN7, 6CG7, or any other medium mu triodes operated at moderate currents.

The original DC high voltage choke in my Philco 44 console began to fail 12 years after initial restoration. I replaced it with this model because it is the closest physically and electronically. It did not totally eliminate the very soft hum you hear when the radio's volume is all the way down. But the radio's selectivity and overall performance seems better than before the failure of the old choke. Just goes to show how improvements to the power supply can effect RF and IF performance.
