About Our Decals
These are traditional water slide decals made with the highest quality materials for long term durability. Many of our decals are gold with a black outline - the typical approach for the control and logo labeling of wooden radio cabinets, etc. Our white decals are typically illustrated with a blue background to make the white visible. Sheet size varies and content of any given decal set varies so please refer to the specific decal description.
In addition to original manufacturer-specific decals, we also offer a range of decals that are more generic in nature that may well your specific application. Those are listed under the "Generic" category.
Decal Application
Our decals are traditional “water slide” decals made with the highest quality materials for long term durability. Apply only on a clean surface. Soak the decal in lukewarm water (NOT HOT) very briefly (5 seconds) and let stand for 20-30 seconds. Position on surface to be mounted and slide paper from under the decal. Carefully smooth with a soft brush being sure to remove any folds, bubbles or excess water.
If the decal is applied around operating controls (volume, tuning, etc.) or other areas where rubbing may occur, a clear coat top finish that is compatible with your base refinishing is recommended. To apply a decal to an uneven surface (like wrinkle finish paint), or to blend the decal into the background, use Microscale Micro-Sol (www.microscale.com).
Note: Our decals are compatible with many refinishing products. However, if you have not used our decals before, it is always a good idea to check compatibility of the decal with your refinishing products on a test piece if possible.
