Failure to adequately repair the existing dial plate, or find a good replacement, would have doomed my restoration project of a fine Coronado 43-8241. Fortunately, Radio Daze had a very nice replacement dial plate - not the very same background color (black) as the original, but as it turned out, an even better color (brownish red), which fits perfectly and nicely complements the marbled brown Bakelite case. Perhaps there was a difference in dial plates between the 43-8240 and the 43-8241. Additionally, the replacement dial plate is laminated on both sides and will prove much more scratch-resistant than the radio's original, delicate, painted-on-one-side, plate. I swallowed hard, sending off a $24 payment for a mere plastic "plate in a poke", but the item sent was very high quality and finished off the handsome old radio beautifully.
